Sometimes I’m happy with my paintings, many times I’m not. When the latter is the case, I usually just paint the canvas black. With nothing left to lose, I embrace the creative process. As opposed to my other work which is sketched out and carefully planned, my do-overs are spontaneous without any rules.
In the do-overs collection I fill the canvas with a variety of characters telling different stories. I explore the relationship between these characters and try to do so with simple strokes. I use the black space to create a sense of depth .
