BIG ART Amsterdam 2023 has come to an end. I had the privilege to attend with 2 XL art works, created especially for the occasion. With the 2 pieces I created, 'Shouter vs Bert' and 'Shouter vs Ernie', I wanted to explore the contrast between the modern day Shouter and the most innocent memory from my childhood. Each piece was painted on a 1.6m x 2m canvas, making it my biggest work yet.
The VIP opening took place on September 28th. The expo was open for public between September 29th and October 1st. During the event I had the chance to meet with peers, some galleries and most important, art lovers. Attendance was beyond my expectations, with thousands of people visiting over the course of 3 days.
The event was very successful. So many people love Bert and Ernie for a variety of reasons, some very personal. It was great fun to introduce so many new people to the Shouter and the story behind it. People definitely relate to the Shouter concept. The positive responses where overwhelming providing me with the validation that I should keep on making Shouters. Off to work!
