BIG ART 2025 Recap

BIG ART 2025 was loud, messy, exhausting and absolutely worth it. After a week of paint-splattered madness, I can proudly say: mission accomplished.
The location
Just like last year, BIG ART took place in de Slotervaart, the former hospital in Amsterdam West. Unlike last year, I wasn’t tucked away in one of the ninth-floor corridors. This time I had an amazing private room on the tenth floor, right next to the bar and opposite the elevators. Great visibility, to say the least.
The work
This year I created my very first mural. Well, not just a mural, a full room piece covering almost four walls. I had only two days to complete it, so the finish wasn’t as refined as a canvas, but I’m happy with the result.
The mural was inspired by an earlier work, That’s just like your opinion, featuring a repeating pattern of raw, naked Shouters. Each eye contained an NFC tag which, when tapped with a phone, revealed a Shouter in costume. In total there were 34 different costumes, turning the room into a playful, interactive experience for visitors of all ages.

Prints and stickers
This year I also wanted to offer affordable takeaways for BIG ART visitors. I produced a special, exclusive BIG ART collection of 28 Shouter art prints. Each print featured a different Shouter, making every piece unique. All were hand-signed by me. I’m happy to share that 26 out of the 28 found a new home.
On top of that, I offered my sticker packs at a reduced price, which turned out to be quite popular too.
Until next time
I met a lot of great people, both new faces and returning friends. It was also inspiring to reconnect with fellow artists—some familiar, others I got to know for the first time. The organization did a fantastic job as always, keeping BIG ART firmly at the top of my favorite art fairs.
Until next year, maybe…
